This <strong>low carb farofa<\/strong> only takes ingredients that are included in the <strong>low carb diet<\/strong> and <strong>paleo diet<\/strong>, helping us satisfy our craving for a tasty and healthy farofa.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Low carb farofa recipe | Ingredients<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1 tablespoon of <a href=\"http:\/\/gnt.globo.com\/receitas\/receitas\/como-fazer-manteiga-caseira-da-rita-lobo.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">butter<\/a> (or finely chopped bacon)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1\/2 onion, diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1\/2 small grated carrot<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2 cloves of garlic, minced or crushed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1 cup of crushed cashew nuts (or other nuts of your choice)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Chopped celery or parsley leaves<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Salt and pepper to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Low carb farofa recipe | How to prepare<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If you are using bacon, place it in a hot frying pan to release the fat. If you are not using bacon, melt the butter. Saut\u00e9 the onion until it becomes transparent (I used a red onion, so that the stuffing would be more colorful). Add the crushed garlic cloves and the grated carrot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">When it wilts, add the crushed cashew nuts (just blend them in a blender or food processor until they are more or less fine, as you like \u2014 I prefer to leave them more chunky so they are nice and crunchy).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Let everything fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Taste and add salt and black pepper if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Turn off the heat and add a handful of finely chopped celery or parsley leaves.
