The syrup will be the first item to be made. We will need two types of sweeteners, one to be used in the dough, and another for our syrup. I will explain why: For the syrup, it cannot be a sweetener that makes the food too sweet, like Doçurinha. It will have to be a powdered Línea or another powdered brand. As for the dough, it can be a sweetener that sweetens the food well, because the cream cheese has salt, if you don't sweeten it well, it will be slightly salty. And powdered sweeteners have carbohydrates to account for, so your recipe will have too many carbohydrates. So I recommend using Doçurinha or Línea Liquido for the dough, because they sweeten very well and have practically no carbohydrates.

To prepare the syrup, you will put the sweetener in a pan and keep stirring without water until it starts to “burn”. This is when you will add the water (but very little) and let it thicken a little. Don’t expect it to be exactly like the syrup made with regular sugar! It won’t be as thick! The syrup for this pudding will only be used to keep it from sticking to the pan and also to give it a nice color.

Pour the syrup into the pan and set aside.

Note that syrup made with sweetener leaves a certain residue, it is not like regular sugar syrup, but it works really well!
