Low carb raspberry avocado smoothie recipe – A delicious low-dairy avocado and raspberry blend that’s sure to be loved by dieters. So delicious, kids will never know it has healthy avocado in it.
I've never been a big fan of avocados, but after learning how nutritious they are, I decided to embrace this superfood. Lately I've been eating them almost every day. I pick up at least 4-5 avocados on every trip to the grocery store. I usually just throw them in a green salad.
I wanted to try something a little different with avocado. I've seen some smoothie recipes that use avocado as a thickener, but they were high in carbs since they also added a lot of fruit juice. So, I came up with this low carb raspberry avocado smoothie recipe. It uses just a little lemon juice and a lot of water. To offset the acidity of the lemon, I added a sweetener.
You can use any sweetener you’d like in this easy recipe. Liquid stevia is a great option if you want to stay away from erythritol and make this a low-carb avocado and raspberry smoothie. I used a whole ripe avocado in the low carb smoothie, which is perfect for two servings. I just cut it in half, removed the pit, and scooped out the flesh with a spoon.
If you are a fan of quick recipes, low carb raspberry avocado smoothie recipe is for you. You just pour all the ingredients into your blender.
You can turn this into any berry smoothie you’d like. Any low carb berries can be used. Although I added raspberries, you can change it up with any combination of unsweetened frozen berries. Blackberries and strawberries are also great options.
The ingredient amounts are just sized for a Magic Bullet blender, which is a perfect blender to use for smoothies. A Vitamix blender is on my wish list, but my cheaper blenders are working fine right now.
You’ll have a chunky, creamy, dairy-free low-carb smoothie thanks to the addition of avocado. I’m not sure why it took me so long to make a smoothie out of this healthy, low-carb fruit. And yes, avocado is a fruit!
