THE cod is a food allowed in low carb diet because it is real food. It is a traditional seasonal fish, helps reduce bad cholesterol, prevents cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Delicious, highly nutritious and easy to digest, cod is also rich in iron and phosphorus, vitamins A, E and D and its cholesterol is almost zero.

It also contains omega 3, which helps to reduce cholesterol bad (LDL) and triglycerides, increases good cholesterol (HDL), is important for preventing and controlling cardiovascular diseases, cancer, hypertension, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. Cod also has omega-6, an essential fatty acid for the immune system.

Low carb cod recipe | Ingredients

(For 3/4 People)

  • 2 Onions
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 3 Carrots (Grated)
  • 1 large cauliflower
  • 3 Cod Fillets
  • Oil
  • White wine as much as you like

Low carb cod recipe | Seasonings

  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Cayenne Pepper (Margao)
  • Nutmeg (Margao)
  • Fresh coriander
  • Salt

Low carb cod recipe | How to prepare

Place the cauliflower in a pan with water and salt to cook. When the cauliflower is cooked, drain the water well and blend everything into a puree.

In a separate pan, place the cod and cook. When it is cooked, let it cool and flake it.

In a non-stick pan, cut the onion, chopped garlic and bay leaf into very thin slices.

When the onion is cooked, add a little white wine and let it boil. Add the grated carrot and let it cook.

When the carrot is cooked, add the shredded cod and mix in the puree.

Adjust seasoning and finish with chopped coriander.

Place on a preheated stove for 15 minutes just to let it brown. That's it.

Suggestion: Add grated mozzarella cheese on top.
